I PICKED THE RIGHT MAN
Or should I say, God picked the right man for me. I have been married 36 years to my darling husband, Steve. Steve and I met in college and married our senior year. We have two children who married wonderful people and they have provided us with one grandson and another on the way.
Sometimes we get so busy, we forget what special people God has put in our lives. God gave me Steve. My husband:
· Is a Christian and loves God.
· Has shared equally in household chores like grocery shopping, cooking, clean the house, to name a few. I don’t let him wash clothes. He dried a favorite sweater of mine and I had to give it to our daughter. LOL!
· He washes my car.
· He helps me with Graceful Beginnings.
· He loves me and our family.
Some couples lead separate lives, even though they are married. The husband may spend all weekend watching sports or participating in sports. If the wife is not interested, then spends this time shopping, or activities with the kids. I learned a very important lesson from my mother. My dad worked in an automotive shop. He loves cars! His dad had a small garage/country store. My dad would come home from work, eat dinner, and then go out in his shop and work on cars. My sister and I would begin our homework and after we settled down for the night, my mom would get a book and go out to the shop and read while my dad worked. It didn’t matter if they talked, they were together. This December they will have been married 60 years!
Steve loves to fish in his kayak. I don’t swim, so I’m scared to get it the kayak. Sometimes I go with him and sit on the beach to read or work. We get to spend time together on the trip to and from the beach. Marriage is a together thing. It’s important to not only spend time together, but enjoy spending time together.
