What to Wear to a Beach Wedding
I was at the beach one Saturday and watched 3 weddings. Please note: If you plan a beach wedding there could be another wedding within 500 feet of your wedding and at the same time! I found it was interesting to watch what people were wearing. You could tell some didn’t know whether to dress for a wedding or dress for the beach.
The main thing I noticed was shoes. There is a good chance you will be standing during the ceremony. If a woman wears heels, you will sink into the sand.
A nice flat or wedge sandal works nicely.
Some brides and her attendants choose to wear foot jewelry.
Even though there will be a breeze, it is going to be hot! For men a nice lightweight suit or khaki pants and a nice shirt are comfortable, yet dressy. For the ladies, a long or knee length dress is good. Remember, it will be breezy so you may be holding onto your dress for the entire ceremony.
I saw the men in one wedding party in white tuxes complete with vests. All I could think about was how hot they were going to be. You can still have the tux but consider loosing the jacket.
The best rule is to let the bride set the tone. If she is wearing a casual dress, feel that you can dress more casual.
